Description
An interactive and fun way for young students to practice and learn the basics of computer coding and programming. This digital Boom Cards bundle provides practice in both following code and creating code with a Christmas theme. Perfect for the Hour of Code!
If you would also like printable materials, try the Print & Digital Mega Bundle set.
In the first deck, students move either a reindeer, Santa, Mrs. Clause, or an elf to the correct place at the North Pole by following the code. This helps students learn the importance of following each step of code in the correct sequence in order to get the desired response and why sequence matters in a computer program.
In the second deck, students create the code for the highlighted blue path through the North Pole by dragging and dropping the arrows to the boxes. They then move the Christmas character from the box with the gold star along the path according to the code they created. This helps students learn the importance of creating each step of code in the correct sequence in order to get the desired response and why sequence matters in a computer program.
These engaging digital decks provide the practice students need to get comfortable with coding so they can go on to master more challenging activities. Practicing coding also improves sequencing skills, problem-solving, logical thinking, cause and effect skills, and computational thinking.
The Christmas digital Boom Cards are self-checking and include audio directions so young students can work independently.
**Please see the preview files for playable samples.**
Each Christmas coding deck includes 20 unique cards that play in random order so each play of the deck is different.
Each card also has audio instructions.
Perfect for hour of code, STEM / STEAM instruction, computer programming class, or center time.
Use on your interactive whiteboard, iPads, desktop, tablet, smartphone or with Google classroom.
What are Boom Cards?
Boom Cards are interactive, self-checking digital task cards that require NO PREP (no printing, cutting, or laminating required)!
They offer an easy way for teachers to assess important skills and a fun way for students to practice these skills.
They are perfect for whole group instruction on an interactive whiteboard or small group instruction, center activities, individual practice on an iPad, laptop, desktop, tablet, or smartphone.
