Description

An interactive and fun way for young students to practice and learn the basics of computer coding and programming. This digital Boom Cards bundle provides practice in both following code and creating code.

In the first deck, students move either a skier or snowboarder to the correct place on the ski slope by following the code. This helps students learn the importance of following each step of code in the correct sequence in order to get the the desired response and why sequence matters in a computer program.

In the second deck, students create the code for the highlighted blue path down the ski slope by dragging and dropping the arrows to the blue coding boxes. They then move the skier or snowboarder from the box with the gold star along the path according to the code they created. This helps students learn the importance of creating each step of code in the correct sequence in order to get the the desired response, why sequence matters in a computer program, and the importance of checking / testing code.

These engaging digital decks provide the practice students need to get comfortable with coding so they can go on to master more challenging activities. Practicing coding also improves sequencing skills, problem-solving, logical thinking, cause and effect skills, and computational thinking.

The winter themed digital Boom Cards are self-checking and include audio directions so young students can work independently.

**Please see the preview files for playable samples.**

Each computer coding deck includes 20 unique cards that play in random order so each play of the deck is different.

Each card also has audio instructions.

Perfect for hour of code, STEM / STEAM instruction, computer programming class, or center time.

Use with an internet connection on your interactive whiteboard, iPads, desktop, tablet, smartphone or with Google classroom.

"My students really enjoyed these coding Boom Card activities. I love that they work on all devices and are self checking. The kids love the fun characters and problem solving challenges." - Jenifer W.
