Use this all-inclusive document to introduce, review, or reteach your students' understanding of comparing numbers. These engaging activities exercise all learning styles. This no-prep pack includes:
- Build and Draw task cards in which students use a model or drawing of tens and ones to build and compare two numbers. A recording sheet is provided. Use this as an informal form of assessment, individual practice, or a math center activity. Allow students to sort task cards based on their ability to understand whether tens or ones helped in deciding if a number is greater or less than.
- An 8 page mini book that explains comparing number symbols & strategies and provides students' with tips, tricks & practice.
- Two 5 page, print & go comparing number packets. Use these as review, practice, homework and assessment. Open ended questions and expectations to explain students' thinking allow for deeper thinking and understanding.
