Description
MS-LS1-2 Develop and use a model to describe the function of a cell as a whole and ways the parts of cells contribute to the function.
This lab activity uses simple materials and can be completed in one class period. Students will use iodine and corn starch to model diffusion. They will end the activity by writing a CER to answer the final question.
Finished with the lab, but want to see what will happen? You can feel free to let it run longer or even overnight and continue to check for diffusion.
