This is a beginning lesson of a Spherical Geometry unit in an Advanced Geometry high school class. The students will explore the concepts of geometry on a sphere as opposed to the traditional Euclidean geometry on a plane. The students will need a sphere that they can draw lines and other geometric shapes on throughout these lessons. The students will be exploring the concepts of Spherical Geometry and applying what they already know to discover new concepts.
