Description

This Fourth Grade Math Division Unit is designed to be teacher and student-friendly with math lessons and activities that are fun, engaging, and easy to prep. Whether you are looking for a stand-alone curriculum or a supplement to your required school curriculum, this comprehensive unit has everything you need to teach fourth grade standards with ease.

Not all math curriculum is awful. Just sum. Ba-da-bum!

But when it is bad, it is very, very bad. And unfortunately, a lot of traditional math curriculum is very, very bad. It’s overly complex, too long, impossible to differentiate, difficult to manage, and, frankly, not much fun. It can be hard to wade through all the extras and find the most valuable parts of the lesson. You don’t have time to read dozens of pages in the teacher manual and there are way too many different pieces to prep. Ugh!

If that sounds like your math curriculum, you’re in luck. Because now you have an alternative that is very, very good. A math curriculum that you and your students will LOVE!

This Division Unit includes fun, engaging, and easy-to-prep lessons and hands-on activities. It is the perfect way to review essential math skills and get kids excited about math.

This was an excellent resource for my students who really struggled with division. Our curriculum moved way too fast and did not explain what any of the strategies were, so this filled in all of the missing gaps!

The only draw back to this resource is that since it is on tpt, admin does not find it to be "curriculum". All of the curriculum I have used over the years does not come close to Not So Wimpy's math curriculum. It is amazing!

Recognize that in a multi-digit whole number, a digit in one place represents ten times what it represents in the place to its right. For example, recognize that 700 ÷ 70 = 10 by applying concepts of place value and division.
Find whole-number quotients and remainders with up to four-digit dividends and one-digit divisors, using strategies based on place value, the properties of operations, and/or the relationship between multiplication and division. Illustrate and explain the calculation by using equations, rectangular arrays, and/or area models.
Multiply or divide to solve word problems involving multiplicative comparison, e.g., by using drawings and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem, distinguishing multiplicative comparison from additive comparison.
