Description

Encourage flexible thinking with this easy to implement math routine, which asks students to find various combinations of coins to reach given totals. This activity could be used at the beginning of class as a warm-up, morning work, or as a math center. This routine is accessible to every student with a low floor and high ceiling, as there are many possibilities for “correct” answers, encouraging students to share their solutions and ideas with each other. This simple routine can help students look at numbers creatively, decompose numbers in different ways, and help foster number sense and real-world applications of mathematics through working with money.

Made with homeschool families in mind, these easy to implement routines are easy to implement on the go or in small windows of time!

Includes half-page booklet with 40 total problems, blank full page copies of each of the 40 total values, and instructions for use.

WHAT’S INCLUDED:

  • 40 values in half-page booklet format
  • 40 total values in full page format (same values as booklet)
