Description

Make students accountable with their writing using these standard-based checklists. These editing checklists are designed using the common core grade level standards for informative writing to hold your students to grade-level expectations.

How To Use

Students designate colors on the checklist for each writing target. Then students read through their writing and underline the places they demonstate the expectation in their writing using the color they chose. If they can't find places to underline, they will know what they need to work on when they revise their paper.

Why Use This?

  • Purposeful use of peer editing time
  • Student-led assessment of their own writing
  • Easy for peer reviewing
  • Makes writer's conferences a breeze! Have students do this before they come to you, and you can review their writing and specific places by quick finding where they underlined using a specific color!

What Is Included?

  • Color and Black/White Printing Options
  • Traditional Checklists
  • Color and Underline Checklists
  • Peer Editing, Self-Editing, Editor (teacher) Checklists Options
  • Options for front/back Checklists: Front- Grade Level Expectations/ Back- General Editing Expectations
  • Peer Editing Glow/Grow option for the back of the checklists

My students enjoyed this. I mainly chose this to work with them on the importance of using maps to add evidence to their ideas about pre civil war North and South
