How to use this lesson in your classroom:

  • Introduction: The teacher presentation will help students build background knowledge as they learn what the endocrine system is, parts of the system, and how it works. Student fill-in notes allow them to reference them throughout the unit.
  • Small group or independent work: Read the science text together to learn about the endocrine system. Students can fill out the graphic organizer independently. If they need help, they can consult the reading.
  • Homework assignment
  • Sub plans: Easy to print and leave with a substitute!
  • Science center: Create a center during your human body unit to allow students to learn about the body systems quickly.
  • Struggling learners: Visuals are included to help struggling learners better understand the parts and functioning.
