Description

Error analysis is a great way to get your students engaging in higher level thinking! My students love being the teacher and finding other students' errors. In this product, you will get 8 different error analysis problems all related to exponent rules. The product rule, the power rule, the quotient rule, and negative exponents are included. Rather than the traditional error analysis routine where students know each problem is incorrect, these problems include both incorrect and correct work. This increases the level of rigor as students will be expected to differentiate between correct and incorrect thinking.

The Exponent Rules Error Analysis resource is a game-changer in the realm of exponent rule mastery. Through targeted error analysis tasks, it effectively identifies and addresses common misconceptions, allowing students to deepen their understanding of exponent laws. With a focus on error correction rather than simple computation, this resource promotes critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Students are challenged to identify and correct errors in exponent expressions, enhancing their ability to apply exponent rules accurately. Whether used as a formative assessment tool or as a supplement to instruction, the Exponent Rules Error Analysis resource is an invaluable asset for educators seeking to foster conceptual understanding and proficiency in exponent manipulation.

I used this in my accelerated 7th grade math class. It was enough rigor to keep them working, but not hard enough to get stuck.
