Description
Fidget Spinner Math!
Students can practice multiplication facts, addition within 100, and subtracting within 100. You can make subtracting and addition easier by only having kids use number cards under 20.
Have students race against each other to see how many math problems they can answer before the spinner stops! *Students can also play alone without a partner. They’ll just try to solve as many problem as they can before the spinner stops.
You can choose to use the answer sheet with the spinner in the middle, or use the answer sheet without the spinner in the middle to show their work. If you use the answer sheet without the spinner in the middle, have students place their spinner on the spinner mat to spin (included in this product). Some answer sheets already have the addition, subtraction, and multiplication signs included so kids can simply write down the numbers. I’ve also included blank answer sheets without the addition, subtraction, and multiplication signs.
How to Play
Shuffle the number cards.
Each player will put one deck of number cards on their right.
Spin the spinner.
Pick two cards from your deck and multiply, add, or subtract the two numbers.
Write down the number sentence and the answer on the answer sheet.
Keep going until the spinner stops.
If you go through the deck before the spinner stops, shuffle the cards again and continue multiplying, adding, subtracting the numbers.
Whoever has more correct answers at the end is the winner! You can swap the answer sheet with your partner to double check if the answers are correct.
Helpful tips:
*No spinner available? Just use a timer app on electronic device or hourglass timer and have students try to solve as many problems as possible before the time runs out!
*Laminate the number cards so you can use them over and over again OR print number cards on cardstock papers.
*Put answer sheets in clear sleeves, so students can write their answers using dry erase markers.
*You can print the spinner cards on one side and the number cards on the other side.
