What others say

"This activity gave students the opportunity to reflect on their experience and learning in AP Calculus. They gave great advice that students could apply in following years. It also gave me feedback on things I could do better throughout the year. Overall, a great end of year/after AP exam activity."

Description

This resource is a "Dear Future Calculus student" reflection assignment to give at the end of the semester or year. This assignment, perfect for after the AP exam, includes guidelines for your students to write a letter to future Calculus students as they reflect on their experience and give advice to students taking the class in the future. Thought-provoking questions geared towards AP Calculus are provided to help students brainstorm in order to write a thoughtful reflection. In the first week of school, my current class reads letters from previous students and complete their own reflection activity using the 3-2-1 instructional strategy. They love hearing tips and advice from former students! The preview shows the types of questions asked in the prompt of this PDF resource.

In my own classroom, my students complete this writing activity after the AP Calculus exam. I truly love hearing what my current students have to say about the course and it's one of my favorite traditions!
