Geometric Probability Math Lib

Students will practice solving problems related to geometric probability with this “Math Lib” activity. This includes finding probability using line segments, area, and volume. There are some challenging questions in this activity! Some questions require students use their knowledge of the Pythagorean Theorem or special right triangles to find measurements. If you feel your students might need a little assistance, consider opening the editable slides version and adding in measurements where needed. This activity was designed for a high school level geometry class.

The answer to each station will give them a piece of a story (who, doing what, with who, where, when, etc.). This is a much more fun approach to multiple choice, and the students adore reading the story to the class. They get very excited to see which of their teachers is the "star" of the story.

EDIT ALL STORY ELEMENTS! All slides are given in an editable format so you are free to personalize the story for your students. PowerPoint is required to edit. Only story elements can be changed, not the actual problems.

It has been my experience that a game or activity is a much better way to present information. Students like the hands on component and the creativity they can use to make the notes their own, color coding hilighting and such. My students enjoyed this product.

Great challenging problems that require students to not only apply geometric formulas but to think critically about how to find missing lengths.
