Geometry 2-D and 3-D shape Math Centers
Are you wanting to start math centers in your class but don't know where to begin? This resource is for you! Ready to print and play, this two week math unit on geometry is easy to use and your students will love it.

Outcomes are specific to the Alberta Curriculum; however, could be easily adapted to meet your geometry unit standards.

There are 5 center activities to be completed each week that meet each outcome in this unit. Activities include interactive notebooks, games, and more!!! Each week the centers are the same format.
C-Computers
A-Alone
M-Manipulatives
P-Partner
P-Problem Solve

In this resource I provide everything you need: Unit plan, Bulletin board, Word Wall , storage ideas, how to set up the activities in your classroom, explanations for each activity as well as the printables you will need for each activity.

WEEK 1- Sort 2-D shapes, using one attribute, and explain the sorting rule, Replicate composite 2-D shapes
• Computer: Tangrams
• Alone: Sort the 2-D shape
• Manipulatives: Build the shape
• Partner: Spin the attribute
• Problem Solve: Make the shape

WEEK 2- Sort 3-D objects, using one attribute, and explain the sorting rule, Replicate composite 3-D objects, Compare 2-D shapes to parts of 3-D objects in the environment.  
• Computer: Shape match
• Alone: Sort the 3-D shape
• Manipulatives: Build a tower
• Partner: Spin the 3-D shape attribute
• Problem Solve: 2-D and 3-D shape hunt

I'm using this unit for the second time with my Grade 1 class and love it! The students love playing the games and I love that each week they are creating products that can be glued into their math notebooks to be assessed!
