Description
In this lesson, students will learn how to graph a line using one point and the slope. Students will explore how one given slope can have equivalent fractions to help plot more points, and move forward and backward on a line.
Prerequisite Skills:
- Plotting ordered pairs on the number line (all 4 quadrants)
- Understand positive and negative slopes as increasing/decreasing lines
- Convert integers into fractions (to use rise over run)
Students will:
- Plot the given point
- Use the slope to plot multiple points on the graph
Included in this purchase:
- Blank copy of notes (1 page front & back)
- Answer Key
Every lesson, worksheet, or activity I post has been created for my own students. All lessons are straightforward and simple - no fluff.
This is lesson 5 of 10 in my Linear Relationships Unit:
- Lesson 5.1 Finding Slope from a Graph
- Lesson 5.2 Finding Slope from Two Points
- Lesson 5.3 Finding Slope from a Table
- Lesson 5.4 Is the Table Linear?
- Lesson 5.5 Graph with One Point & Slope
- Lesson 5.6 Graph in Slope-Intercept Form
- Lesson 5.7 Convert from Point-Slope Form & Standard Form
- Lesson 5.8 Convert to Slope-Intercept Form & Graph
- Lesson 5.9 and 5.10 Write Equations in Slope-Intercept From (Part 1 & 2)
