Description
This competitive, collaborative learning activity will have your students excited to practice GRAPHING and LINE Plots. Students can work alone or in pairs to represent data on 4 different graphs of varying difficulty. The group that correctly completes all 4 graphs first wins! This "RACE" activity reinforces many 3rd grade common core graphing and line plot standards.
Graph #1 - Serves as a baseline because the data is given and students must complete a frequency chart and bar graph (with a scale increment of 2) and answer questions about the graph.
Graph #2 - Students generate data by rolling a die, record on a chart and frequency table, create a pictograph (with a key of 1 dice = 2 rolls), and answer questions.
Graph #3 - Students generate data by finding the SUM of 2 dice, record on a chart and frequency table, create a bar graph (with a scale increment of 4), and answer questions.
Graph #4 - Students generate data by finding the PRODUCT of 2 dice, record on a chart, create a line plot, and answer questions.
