------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WHAT’S INCLUDED
- 32 QR Code Cards on Halloween
- 4 Recording Sheets
- 4 page Answer Key
- Banner Reading 'Happy Halloween' ( 4 options)
- Writing Templates x 12 featuring Halloween related backgrounds - students write 2-3 facts and add illustrations; would also be useful to write on a writing prompt
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ACTIVITY
- Place the 32 QR Code Cards on Halloween around the classroom. Students can work individually, in pairs, or in small groups to find the answers to all 32 questions on their recording sheets.
- They must scan the QR Code to find the answer for each corresponding question on their recording sheets.
- Students may also make an educated guess about the possible answer prior to scanning.
- After all students have completed the QR Code Hunt, show these cards on the interactive whiteboard and discuss the answers with the class.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EVIDENCE OF LEARNING
* Have students write 2-3 facts on Halloween on a writing template of choice. As the backgrounds featured are plain and simple, they can add further illustrations.
These templates can also be used to write on a given prompt.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ONLINE SECURITY
Once a QR code is scanned, students are not directed to a website but rather to a text only link. If the QR Code Reader app attempts to display the answer with a web browser, choose the option of view in ‘plain text’ in settings/preferences.
Please find a screen capture of the scanning of the QR Code here: https://bit.ly/3Qgo7cK
** NOTE: you can select any number of cards (1- 18) or (19-32) depending upon time available. Print out recording sheets accordingly.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
⭐⭐⭐PLEASE NOTE PRIOR TO PURCHASING:
The QR codes do not provide access to any online article, reason being the links change or they are often blocked by school admin. Instead, the codes once scanned reveal the answer to each question on the recording sheet.
Students make an educated guess prior to scanning the code. Students will still be assimilating information, moving and having fun as they record the scanned answer in their own words.
Evidence of learning will be found when students design their writing templates.
