These same word problems also come in Worksheet Form. Other choices include how your students work or record their answers.

Use the Extended Student Recording Sheet that encourages students to show their work and their thinking or the Short Answer Recording Sheet. An Answer Key is also included.

Distance Learning

This resource includes the Digital Easel Activity. After purchase, click the red "Create Digital Activity" button. This will give you access to a version with text boxes for student input and a highlighting tool to color the text or circle answers. Additional student directions will help your remote learners know what to do. You can edit the digital overlay or use it as is. For this particular resource I did the Color Task Cards Only. You can add more if you want.

IDEAS TO DIFFERENTIATE

For Students who are struggling with math teachers can….

• work with them in a small group using the task cards that are below or on grade level. If you teach 3rd Grade have them do the 2nd Grade version of this resource. It looks just like the 3rd Grade version except the problems are easier. Click the link below if interested.

Halloween Math Word Problems for 2nd Grade

• allow them to use Product Charts and/or Times Table Lists when Multiplication is needed.
• supply them with manipulatives to help them.
• allow them more time to think about each problem.
• encourage them to draw pictures of the problem and explain it a loud.

For Students that need a challenge teachers can….

• give them the 4th Grade version of this resource. It looks the same except that most of the problems are more challenging. Click the link below if interested.

Halloween Math Word Problems for 4th Grade

• allow them time to add word problems and continue the Halloween party story. Then give the problems to a friend to figure out.
• Create a new game to go with any of the Halloween Word Problems they are doing.
