Description

In this handout, you have three valuable Project-Based lessons for students to work on individually or with partners. This may be used as a single unit, or as a homework assignment, or as a group lesson.

The first handout is researching one of 25 topics "About the 1920’s."

The next handout is a project-based task for students to research

"28 Important Figures in the Harlem Renaissance." The handout or assignment #3 is the Langston Hughs (I, Too Sing America) project.

Students critically analyze why did African American leaders would use art to express themselves and to advocate for equal rights (instead of political, legal, or economic avenues?)
