Description

This is a document packet that is designed for the Common Core. It has 6 individual worksheets that contain both secondary content knowledge (written and summarized by myself) and document based material (that has the sources) all geared to answer a Common Core style question. The lesson culminates with a position statement and an outline activity to gather information for an essay.

The content has also been aligned to the new New York State
Grades 9‐12 Social Studies Framework

10.10 HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS: Since the Holocaust, human rights violations have generated worldwide attention and concern. The United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights has provided a set of principles to guide efforts to protect threatened groups and has served as a lens through which historical occurrences of oppression can be evaluated.

Thank you kindly, I will be adding new stuff that follows the new document based assessments. They are called SAQ's or short answer questions based on primary and secondary sources. You can use them to help students practice reading and annotating. Also help them understand point of view, purpose, audience and bias. Hope you check them out.
