Description

Teaching persuasive devices? These worksheets help explain hyperbole / exaggeration, give examples, have students identify them and provide scaffolding for students to learn to write their own.

There is a worksheet that defines hyperbole in a child friendly way, gives examples and asks students to give their own examples. There is a cut and paste activity where students can match the standard statement to the exaggerated statement, and activities where students change each standard statement into an exaggerated statement and vice versa.

As these are all in PDF, you can also teach directly from the file and annotate on your Interactive Whiteboard if you have one as well. This makes teaching this concept easy as it is clearly scaffolded with easy to understand explanations and examples that you can discuss with your class prior to them completing the worksheets independently.

These are all in a clear, easy to follow format that are very user friendly for primary school aged children. Answer sheets are also included at the end for quick and easy marking!

This was a great resource. My students completed it with a partner after we watched a video on hyperbole and discussed what hyperboles are.
