Description

Teaching low and high modality words or persuasive devices? These worksheets help explain high and low modality words, give examples, have students identify them and provide scaffolding for students to learn to use them in their writing.

There is a worksheet that defines high and low modality words in a child friendly way, gives examples and asks students to give their own examples. There is a cut and paste activity where students can identify high and low modality words, telling them apart and sorting them into two columns. There are activities where students change each low modality sentence into a high modality sentence and vice versa.

As these are all in PDF, you can also teach directly from the file and annotate on your Interactive Whiteboard if you have one as well. This makes teaching this concept easy as it is clearly scaffolded with easy to understand explanations and examples that you can discuss with your class prior to them completing the worksheets independently. They also make great homework worksheets to review this concept too. There are so many possible uses!

All worksheets also have an answer sheet provided for quick and easy marking.

These are all in a clear, easy to follow format that are very user friendly for primary school aged children.
