Description

Inequalities practice worksheets for 6th and 7th grade math are more engaging when they are color by number activities!

In this writing inequalities activity with print and digital options, students write and find 20 inequalities to match situations and graphs.

  • Students find the inequalities on the coloring sheet/section and color with the given color.
  • **Students need to really watch their signs before they color:-)

Check out the Preview and video demo above to see what's included and to see how the digital version works (students will need to know how to use the "Fill color" feature).

Problems require students to:

  • Write an inequality given a word problem/situation
  • Write an inequality given the graph of the inequality

This easy-prep inequalities resource includes:

1) Two print versions:

Version A:

  • Problem sheet with 20 questions

This was a well-designed resource for practicing writing inequalities from word phrases and graphs. I appreciated that the same numbers appeared in multiple problems so students had to think about which inequality sign to use and could not just guess. I also like that color by number activities allows students to self-check to an extent. Students always like coloring activities. We used the non-digital option, as this assignment was during a school-wide testing week and I wanted to give students a break from their screens. I do appreciate the value of this resource though, which does include a digital option which I may use in the future, as well as two different print options.

Write an inequality of the form 𝘹 > 𝘤 or 𝘹 < 𝘤 to represent a constraint or condition in a real-world or mathematical problem. Recognize that inequalities of the form 𝘹 > 𝘤 or 𝘹 < 𝘤 have infinitely many solutions; represent solutions of such inequalities on number line diagrams.
Solve word problems leading to inequalities of the form 𝘱𝘹 + 𝘲 > 𝘳 or 𝘱𝘹 + 𝘲 < 𝘳, where 𝘱, 𝘲, and 𝘳 are specific rational numbers. Graph the solution set of the inequality and interpret it in the context of the problem. For example: As a salesperson, you are paid $50 per week plus $3 per sale. This week you want your pay to be at least $100. Write an inequality for the number of sales you need to make, and describe the solutions.
