Description
This product can help solve your cleaning participation issues in the lab. In my ten years of working with students in the kitchen, I have found that if students can see that the cleaning responsibilities are fairly divided and rotated, they will help clean. This form should be posted in the kitchen where students can easily check their responsibility that day. You will be able to edit the student names and the jobs to fit your specific cleaning needs.
This editable form can help solve a few common problems in the kitchen:
- The student that only cleans and never cooks, will no longer be "too busy cleaning" to help cook.
- The students who try to run out the door without helping clean, will now have a cleaning responsibility.
- No more wall flowers, everyone helps.
What if a student is absent?
- Keep documentation that they were absent. I mark my copy of the form.
- Another group member will have to pick up the slack but the next lab they will have off.
- It is important for students to understand that skipping class does not get them out of cleaning.
- You will need to use your judgement on how to handle students that are absent due to extracurricular events.
Another helpful tip:
No one in the group eats until all of their cleaning assignments are finished and checked off by you.
