Making Inferences Task Cards #2
Focuses on inferring author's purpose. There are 24 questions on 12 great task cards. The first question on the task card is open-ended to scaffolded the thinking process. The second question is multiple choice for STAAR test prep.

In these making inferences task cards, students will read informational texts, poems, advertisements, and fiction. There are four tip cards covering:
1. What is an inference?
2. PIE: Persuade, inform, entertain
3. What is author's purpose?
4. How to infer author's purpose
