This is a 2nd Grade March-Themed and St. Patrick's Day word problem math craft that is rigorous, fun and makes an adorable bulletin board.

We know how important word problems are, but sometimes students need a little bit of motivation to solve them.

My answer..MATH CRAFTS!

Students will solve the March themed word problems in order to build a fun LEPRECHAUN!

3rd Grade version

4th Grade version

Once students have solved the word problems, they will find the answers on the LEPRECHAUN pieces sheet. Once they've solved all word problems and have found all the answers on the LEPRECHAUN pieces sheet...they will then be able to cut out the pieces, color, and build their LEPRECHAUN.

This set includes three differentiated options:

Level 1:

These six word problems are a bit simpler and include:

• subtraction within 20
• addition within 20

Level 2:

These six word problems are a bit more complex and include:

• subtraction within 20
• addition within 20
• one multi-step word problem (within 20)

Level 3:

These six word problems include:

• two digit addition with regrouping
• two digit subtraction with and without regrouping
• one multi-step word problem (within 20)
