Description
This is a great end of the year activity! I actually created it especially to keep students engaged at the end of the school year. It could also be a culminating project for an astronomy or planetary science unit.
This project allows students to plan, sketch, and build a Mars Rover in the classroom out of recyclable items from home. Students have a certain budget that they must keep to during the building of their rover. There is also an activity for students to create their own mission patch for their rover mission. Rubrics are included in the activity, as well as, photos from my own student creations.
Thanks!

I used this resource as part of a unit on Mars. I made modifications but it was extremely helpful in designing my own lesson around the Perseverance Rover.
My classroom students and my Girl Scouts enjoyed this packet. My students designed Mars Rovers out of recycled materials and my GS' were able to use this project to complete their Space Exploration Badge.
This helped me so much in planning for our e-learning days! Thank you!
I am so happy for that! Stay safe!
Excellent resource!! My students LOVED this!
thanks
Great end of the unit project!
This is such a hit with my kids every year!
