The Hobbit has been released in theaters! What better way to learn more about this classic book than reading it! This is a vocabulary study using five different graphic organizers to teach vocabulary words from The Hobbit. There are words selected from each chapter in their own graphic organizer for students to use. Students can use the flashcards to learn lunar phases or to put them in order from new moon to full moon and back to new moon. The description on the flashcards also gives students an idea of when the moon will rise so they can view that particular phase. At the bottom of each description there is a phrase about which side is lit during each phase. This will help students remember if they are viewing a waxing or waning moon. This is a constellation activity to make at school and do as homework when the constellations can be seen.
