These are a great way to scaffold second graders to TRUE problem solving. SUPER EASY to differentiate since students (or teachers) can choose their own numbers! Some learners may spend FIVE TIMES LONGER on the sorting part... just identifying which cards are addition situations, and which are subtraction. Hey, it's better than NOT spending that long...

My First Math Story center is a favorite in grades first & second grades ALL YEAR LONG!! Start with fill in the blank word problems (like Mad Libs) and move up through 3 Fill in the Blank levels before crafting your very own word problems in second grade!
