What better way to mix MATH and WRITING?? This template is designed to have the students break down the math word problems to better understand what operation to use and why. The idea is for them to use complete sentences when explaining "why I did it" and "how I know I'm right", as well as self check their answers. They must also choose the important parts of the word problem and the operation to be used when solving the problem, by pulling out the important information in the "what do I know" section. And of course, they must show their work in the "my math work" area. Enjoy!!
