Geometry Math and Art Project

Geometry Math and Art project will give your students an opportunity to apply their knowledge of geometry properties with art! This is a great activity for your students to show you they understand the vocabulary used with geometry.

Your students will create an original work of art while applying their knowledge of geometric vocabulary such as transversals, angles, similar figures, congruent figures and more! I included a rubric, a peer evaluation, and a teacher evaluation.

My students love this project because they get to choose how to create an original piece of art in math class! This geometry and art project is a favorite activity with students!

Represent three-dimensional figures using nets made up of rectangles and triangles, and use the nets to find the surface area of these figures. Apply these techniques in the context of solving real-world and mathematical problems.
Draw (freehand, with ruler and protractor, and with technology) geometric shapes with given conditions. Focus on constructing triangles from three measures of angles or sides, noticing when the conditions determine a unique triangle, more than one triangle, or no triangle.
Describe the two-dimensional figures that result from slicing three-dimensional figures, as in plane sections of right rectangular prisms and right rectangular pyramids.
