My students LOVE getting out of their seats. Scavenger hunts are a great way to review skills and promote math discourse. I assign students specific roles to ensure they work cooperatively to solve and it has great results. I often use scavenger hunts for my observations and always receive great feedback.

Scavenger hunts are so great to have in class. The students love that they are able to be up and about while completing their math problems. This gives the students an opportunity to work with their classmates to basically solve the puzzle. I love it.

So I used this for pretty much every lesson I taught. The students enjoyed being able to break up the monotony of the regular school days. I think that it was important for them to be able to get up and move around the room. Us adults don't like staying in one place all day long so I know the kids don't either. I'll definitely use this in future lessons with my students.
