Description

Multi-step graphing task cards that address the MD.3 standard. Students create graphs and answer questions. Student answer sheets and answers are included. Also includes 13 BONUS math journal prompts (graphing).

The problems and prompts included are designed to challenge students by engaging higher-level thinking. They are perfect for math workshop (stations or centers), because it will take students more than a quick second to solve each and will encourage math thinking and discussion. They will also work perfectly for whole class lessons.

The multi-step problems have a colorful background and color images to help engage your students. Print them as task cards onto cardstock and laminate for durability. They can then be stored in ziploc bags and used again and again!

Prompts are provided in two formats:

-Print and Go Reproducible (print one response form for each student), or

-Paper-saving Labels (students cut and paste into their math notebooks)

Draw a scaled picture graph and a scaled bar graph to represent a data set with several categories. Solve one- and two-step “how many more” and “how many less” problems using information presented in scaled bar graphs. For example, draw a bar graph in which each square in the bar graph might represent 5 pets.
