Description

Mean, Median, Mode & Range Math Wheel Notes and Footloose task cards activity are a fantastic way to review vocabulary and process, and then get students moving while they are practicing concepts!

Includes:

  • 30 Footloose task cards (set with a background and a set without)
  • Footloose grid
  • Answer key
  • Mean, Median, Mode Range Math Wheel with instructions

Footloose cards require students to:

  • Find the mean, median, mode and range of a data set
  • Identify the outlier in a data set
  • Find a missing data point, given mean, median, mode or range and other data points
  • Find mean without outlier

Mean, Median, Mode, Range Math Wheel resource includes:

1) THREE versions of the student wheel

  • ‘Open’ for students to write notes - this version is most flexible, space-wise
  • ‘Fill-in’ notes, to help control student use of space
  • Pre-filled notes; answers to examples and practice problems are NOT on this version

2) Teacher key/wheel with completed notes and examples

3) Colored sample of wheel

4) A PowerPoint file that has a blank wheel with background, so you can add text to make your own math wheels, if you’d like (for classroom use only - not commercial use).

Features of the math wheel

  • Notes sections and examples (notes are just suggestions, and you can alter them if you’d like)
  • Guided or independent practice: 6 data sets in the pattern around the circle, for which students find different measures
  • Coloring/doodling opportunity: students can color the background pattern, as well as the headings and doodle arrows

Super quick and easy way to practice measures of center. With a class of 30 kids and 30 cards, they each got one card and we passed them around. They had 1 minute to complete each card. 30 cards in 30 minutes shows who knows and who doesn't.
