These decks of cards will be used over and over again in your classroom to help your students develop strategies with multiplication facts between 2 and 9. Nine different games and activities all using the same cards are included in this set. Print, copy and cut the deck apart once and you have 9 new activities for your classroom. These can be done in a whole group, in small groups or in pairs. Each of these games makes an excellent math center or homework assignment.
Each multiplication fact is supported with visual images using equal groups, array or area models. This allows students to anchor their understanding of multiplication on a visual model while allowing them to develop strategies that will lead to fluency with multiplication facts. We know kids need a lot of practice to develop fluency with multiplication facts so we use these cards over and over again in many different engaging games.
The best part is that your students will learn these games and routines, and as their skills improve you can change the cards out for more challenging ones without having to reteach the games! You can also really differentiate your students' practice by having students use different subsets of the deck than their classmates. It looks like everyone is playing the same game and practicing the same skill but by giving them different subsets of the deck, you can make it easier or more challenging.
