Students will use three methods to multiply two digit numbers: the distributive property, the area model, and the multiplication algorithm. Students will realize that solving the same problem three different ways gives the same solution.
Straightforward and easy to follow, this lesson incorporates visual aids to combine introductory vocabulary, guided practice, independent work, group discussion and reflection for a fun and informative class activity.
