Are you looking for a fun way to incorporate coding into your curriculum? This product is designed to be used with Bee-Bot coding robots and will coordinate well with your study of nonfiction/informational text features. This product can easily be used during your center rotations, Daily 5 time and will give your students the opportunity to practice their coding skills while also integrating into your core curriculum.
Each page includes a 15cm by 15cm picture square which will need to be printed and then assembled to create a Bee-Bot mat. Squares may be put in any order you'd like and also include an overlap tab to help you line up your pieces. Extra tabs can be trimmed off.
Also included are 2 sets of programming cards.The first set provides the name of the text feature while the second set provides students with the definition of the text feature which they must then find and then program their Bee-Bot to travel to that spot on the mat
The text features included are:
* Table of contents
* close up
* types of print
To create different variations of the mat, create a Bee-Bot mat from of a piece of clear 12 gauge vinyl that has been sectioned off into 15cm x 15cm squares (I use a permanent marker to do this). After printing and laminating your pieces, simply tape them on to the back side of the mat. You can now easily move pieces to different locations and storage of the pieces is my easier.
This product coordinates with my NonFiction/ Informational Text Feature posters which you can find here:
