Solving one-step equations is the focus of these Footloose task cards, which are a fantastic way to get students moving and reviewing.
- The one-step equations math wheel that's included is an engaging way for students to take notes about solving algebraic equations.
1) This Footloose Task Cards resource includes:
- 30 task cards (set with a background and a set without)
- Footloose grid/recording sheet
- Answer keys
The One-Step Equations task cards require students to:
- Solve one-step addition equations
- Solve one-step subtraction equations
- Solve one-step multiplication equations
- Solve one-step division equations
2) Algebraic Equations Math Wheel Guided Notes:
Includes:
1) THREE versions of the student wheel
- ‘Open’ for students to write notes - this version is most flexible, space-wise
- ‘Fill-in’ notes, to help control student use of space
- Pre-filled notes; answers to examples and practice problems are NOT on this version
2) Teacher key/wheel with completed notes and examples for each wheel
3) Colored samples of original wheel
4) PPT file that’s a blank wheel with background ~you can add text to make
your own math wheels, if you’d like (for classroom use only - not commercial
use)
The sections of the math wheel include:
1) Addition Equations
2) Subtraction Equations
3) Multiplication Equations
4) Division Equations
Each section of the wheel has:
- An equation
- A statement about which operation to use to solve the equation type
- One example with room to solve. There is additional space to add your own examples if you’d like (the sample uses space to show substitution to check, but you could use the space to add a second or third equation to solve
