  • 12-page Mini-Lesson x 3 Versions
  • 32 Projectable Task Cards
  • 32 Standard Sized Task Cards
  • Answer Page
  • Answer Key
  • Guide to using Google Classroom™
  • Google Slides™ compatible resource
  • Google Forms™ compatible resource

The mini-lesson provides a few background slides on why there is an order in math and what other subjects are similar. Then it presents several problems based on three different mnemonic devices so you can choose the mnemonic that works for you and your school. Choose between GEMA, PEMDAS, or BEDMAS.

The task cards provide 32 problems with operations running from 2 step up to 5 or 6 steps. Although most of the problems involve evaluating the expression and solving the order of ops problems, there are a few that ask students to find and describe the error, that are presented as word problems, or that ask students to use operations to make the problem true. All answers involving numbers, except for one, work out to whole numbers. That one problem is a word problem involving school supplies and cost and has an answer involving dollars and cents.

An answer recording sheet and an answer key are both included for your use.

You will receive a zipped file. In that zipped file are 2 PDFs. One PDF is the paper version of this resource. The other PDF contains the directions to Google Classroom as well as the links to the digital files. Please make sure you have the ability to unzip and extract files before purchasing.

For the digital files you will receive two links inside a PDF, the links are to a Google Slides™ resource and a Google Forms™ resource. The slides resource utilizes the mini-lesson and task cards, while the forms resource presents the task cards more as a quiz to allow for quick and easy grading.

During a time when we had very little students in class this resource was great to use with both my in class learners and students who were learning from home. It was easy to modify for different students as well.
