Description

Using the PHET simulator on building circuits and need a worksheet to go with it? This is the one!

In this activity, students will learn how to make parallel and series circuits, how to draw circuit diagrams and discuss the relationship between current, voltage, and power. I used this when I INTRODUCED circuits and circuit drawings to my students, so they were learning as they went!

The first sheet was my introduction to the lesson. I had students draw two circuits, and then we discussed the differences between a series and a parallel circuit.

In the next lesson, we went into Ohms law and then I had them do the next PHET lab where they collected data and looked at the relationship between Voltage and Current (If the resistance is constant). You can find that worksheet on my page as well.

Great resource! My students love this simulation and I liked that they had practice drawing circuits and made connections between voltage, current, and resistance
