Description

QR codes make task cards more engaging! Simply cut out and laminate the cards and place in a center with a device that can read QR codes (iPod Touch, iPad, tablet, or laptop/desktop with a camera). Students get immediate feedback when they scan the QR codes.

This product includes 8 different sets of data with 4 cards each- for a total of 32 task cards. Each set of 4 cards has the same picture printed on them and they are numbered as well. The first card in each set has a number line on which students can plot the given data set using vis-a-vis markers (if the cards are laminated). (Students could complete the line plots on the recording sheet instead if preferred.) The other 3 cards in each set include questions that require students to interpret the line plot they drew. These cards include QR codes for students to self-check their answers. All of the line plots include fractions.

These task cards are aligned to the Common Core State Standard 4.MD.4. A student recording sheet, answer key, and one-page (6 question) quick assessment are included. I recently upgraded all of my math task cards to include a digital, self-grading version of the quick assessment using Google Forms™! Download the preview to see the task cards up close. Please make sure that you have a device that can scan QR codes before purchasing.

These task cards are also available in a Non-QR Code Version and a Digital/Paperless Version

Make a line plot to display a data set of measurements in fractions of a unit (1/2, 1/4, 1/8). Solve problems involving addition and subtraction of fractions by using information presented in line plots. For example, from a line plot find and interpret the difference in length between the longest and shortest specimens in an insect collection.
