Description

Reaction rates can be altered by changing the conditions in which the reaction occurs. This lab investigates the affects of altering concentration, temperature, and surface area on the reaction rate. These mini-labs meet the Next Generation Science Standard HS-PS1-5 (see preview for full standard).

Use this product to provide a hands-on activity for students to interact with altering reaction rates. This also connects the behavior of substances they may have seen in their every day lives! (Glow sticks and alka-seltzer)

Happy Teaching!

A great hands-on activity where students can manipulate variables to view differing reaction rates. This was pretty easy to source which is really important for me as I teach abroad.

This mini-lab was great!! It looked at concentration, temperature and surface area. It was able to be completed in a class period. The students enjoyed it, but it also forced them to take what they were seeing and make observations/draw conclusions related to reaction rates. I will definitely be using this in years to come with my chemistry classes.
