Description
These SAT Math Practice Skill Checks 3–4 give students targeted SAT-style math practice for test prep, review, and skill application. Students practice functions, data analysis, geometry, probability, equations, expressions, graphs, tables, diagrams, multiple-choice questions, student-produced responses, and Desmos-style thinking in a format designed to feel closer to SAT math questions.
These Skill Checks are part of the SAT Math Practice Pathway and are designed to follow SAT Math Review Practice Sheets 7–12. The suggested classroom sequence is to complete Practice Sheets 7–9 before Skill Check 3, then Practice Sheets 10–12 before Skill Check 4. They can also be used as stand-alone SAT math review. The practice sheets help students review the underlying math skills, while the Skill Checks help students apply those same skills in SAT-style formats.
SAT Math Practice Pathway
This resource is part of a larger SAT Math practice system. Students first build the skill with basic practice sheets, then apply those same skills in SAT-style questions through the matching Skill Checks.
Practice Sheets 1–6 → Skill Checks 1–2
Practice Sheets 7–12 → Skill Checks 3–4 (You Are Here)
Practice Sheets 13–18 → Skill Checks 5–6
Suggested use: Complete 3 Practice Sheets, then use the matching Skill Check.
For the full system, choose the SAT Math Skill Builder & Transfer Practice Bundle, which includes all 18 Practice Sheets and all 6 matching Skill Checks.
Students may understand a math skill on a worksheet and still struggle when that same skill appears in a different format. These Skill Checks were created to help bridge that gap.
Students will practice:
- Applying foundational SAT math skills in SAT-style formats
- Working with functions, equations, expressions, probability, and geometry
- Using efficient strategies, including Desmos when helpful
- Recognizing how SAT questions may ask about skills in unfamiliar ways
Skill Check 3 includes topics such as functions, systems of inequalities, probability tables, conditional probability, scatterplots, line of best fit, volume, and right triangle reasoning.
Skill Check 4 includes equations with no solution, literal equations, polynomial/function interpretation, similar triangles, parallel lines, measures of center, rational expressions, systems of inequalities, cone volume, circle sector area, exponential decay, and quadratic modeling.
What’s included:
- SAT-Style Skill Check 3
- SAT-Style Skill Check 4
- 28 total questions
- Multiple-choice questions
- Student-produced response questions
- Graphs, tables, and diagrams
- Desmos strategy notes where helpful
- Condensed answer keys
- Worked-out answer keys
- Teacher guide
- SAT Math Practice Path page
Suggested uses:
Use these Skill Checks as:
- A one-day SAT checkpoint
- A two-day SAT review
- Partner strategy practice
- Small-group reteach material
- A way to review missed questions by skill
- A bridge between basic math review and SAT-style application
The included teacher support gives options for reviewing missed questions, identifying whether students missed the math skill or the SAT-style wording, and helping students notice common mistakes.
SAT Prep Note: These Skill Checks help students practice the step between basic math review and full mixed SAT practice: recognizing familiar skills in SAT-style questions.
