Description

Boost student engagement with this hands-on stoichiometry grams to volume conversion practice worksheet!

This resource contains worksheets on grams-to-volume (in cubic decimeters (dm³) at RTP) conversions. Students will practice and test their calculation skills by solving 15 stoichiometry questions using the mole formula and working with Avogadro’s constant. This will give your students the practice they need to master and become confident with stoichiometry calculations.

This resource is designed to guide struggling students to master or review the topic with your students/class.

Students will do:

Three-way conversions between mass (grams), number of particles, and volume of gas to solve stoichiometry questions.

  • Moles to moles conversions
  • Grams to grams conversions
  • Particles to particles conversions
  • Grams to particles conversions (and vice versa)
  • Grams to volume conversions (and vice versa)
  • Particles to volume conversions (and vice versa)

Students must balance the chemical equations before they begin working on the grams-to-grams conversion to make them check and balance the chemical equations before proceeding with any stoichiometry calculations. If you would like more exercise on balancing chemical equations, please check our resources below the description!

This resource can be used for in-class activities and independent assessments. This is an ideal in-class activity, revision, homework, independent practice, or summer/winter break assessment. This will lay down a solid foundation your students need before they work on stoichiometry!

NOTE: The British curriculum primarily uses 24 cubic decimeters (dm³) at RTP conditions.

Regardless of the grade and curriculum, our resources can be used with students doing general chemistry, IGCSE Chemistry, As/A-levels Chemistry or IB Chemistry SL/HL.

This resource includes 7 non-prep worksheets:

Stoichiometry Level 4: Grams-to-Volume (6 pages) is packed with 15 independent practice questions where students will balance any unbalanced equations and solve each question. The first question is a warm-up / guided question. This is a great practice and test to see if students can use the formulas confidently and appropriately. This will help them build the confidence and skills they need to do more challenging stoichiometry questions.

The answer key (6 pages) is provided at the end of the pack.
