This resource contains worksheets on the mole-to-mole conversion. It contains both step-by-step guided and independent practices on the mole ratios and gives your students the practice they need to master and become confident with mole-to-mole conversions!
This resource is designed to guide struggling students to master or review the topic with your students/class.
Students will do:
- Determine the stoichiometric ratios
- Calculate the amount of products produced from a certain amount of reactant
- Calculate the amount of reactants needed to react completely with another reactant.
Students must balance the chemical equations before they begin working on the mole-to-mole conversion. If you would like more exercise on balancing chemical equations, please check our resources below the description!
This resource can be used for in-class activities and independent assessments. This is an ideal in-class activity, revision, homework, independent practice, or summer/winter break assessment. This will lay down a solid foundation your students need before they work on stoichiometry!
Regardless of the grade and curriculum, our resources can be used with students doing general science, general chemistry, IGCSE Chemistry, As/A-Level Chemistry, AP Chemistry, or IB Chemistry SL/HL.
This resource includes 6 non-prep worksheets:
Introduction to Mole-to-Mole Ratio (2 pages) covers the foundation of mole-to-mole conversion between reactants and products, and vice versa. An example is provided before students will attempt the mole ratio conversion themselves. Teachers can go through this section with their students and provide help if necessary before they solve question 4 of this section, where they will attempt it independently.
Mole-to-Mole Ratio: Guided Practice (1 page) introduces three guided practice questions for teachers to evaluate if their students can solve each question correctly and independently. Teachers can provide help and do the following questions together with their students if necessary.
Mole-to-Mole Ratio: Independent Practice (3 pages) is packed with practice questions where students will balance the chemical equations first, write down the mole ratio of the equation, and answer the following questions. Students will determine (1) the amount of products produced from a certain amount of reactant or (2) the amount of reactants needed to react completely with another reactant. This will help them build the confidence and skills they need to do stoichiometry questions. This includes a total of 9 practice questions.
The answer key (5 pages) is provided at the end of the pack.
