Description

These summarizing task cards for Google Slides are perfect to practice summarizing fiction stories. These slides are differentiated. There are 5 passages on each path (5 open response, 5 drag and drop). These slides use the format (SWBST- Somebody, wanted, but, so, then)

Students can choose two different paths:

1. drag and drop- Drag the story elements to the correct categories

2. open response- Type responses in the digital graphic organizer

For both paths, students will read a fiction short story. Then they will either type or drag story elements to complete the "Someone, wanted, but, so, then" graphic organizer. The opening slide reviews "someone, wanted, but, so, then" so students know what to look for.

I like the digital format. Since there were two formats: drag and drop and open ended, I was able to differentiate based on my students' needs.
