The task cards in the bundle cover the following skills: rounding, place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, two-step word problems, understanding fractions, comparing fractions, area, perimeter, time, measuring length, capacity and mass, interpreting data, and geometry-- all for a DISCOUNTED BUNDLE PRICE, OVER 30% OFF than buying each set individually!

Use the "Included Products" feature to preview each set of task cards and a more in depth look at the skills they cover.

Answer keys are included, and task cards print 4/page.

Task cards have become one of my favorite learning tools in my 3rd grade classroom!

Whole group:

  • Spread the cards around the room and do a task card scoot where students move from card to card, recording their answers.
  • Use the powerpoint file to display on your smartboard/tv/projector and have students work on them from their desks.

Small group:

  • Task cards may be my FAVORITE small group tool. Give each student a task card to complete and allow them to work through a set of cards while you check their work/answers. The best part of this is all students can work on the same skill/level without all of them doing the same problem and being able to look at each other's work while at your small group table.

Centers:

  • Have students complete the task cards using a recording sheet during their center time (similar to the scoot mentioned above for whole group).
  • Use the task cards as part of a game. You could use ANY game for this--just have students correctly complete a task card before being able to take their turn. When I have students do this, I typically have all students playing the game answer each card (even if it isn't their turn) on a white board so that they can check the answer of the student whose turn it is--it also keeps them doing more math!!

**These task cards do not come in a black and white option and are not editable.**

I used this resource during our math stations. These task cards were a great independent station where my students could practice previously taught skills.

Tell and write time to the nearest minute and measure time intervals in minutes. Solve word problems involving addition and subtraction of time intervals in minutes, e.g., by representing the problem on a number line diagram.
Measure and estimate liquid volumes and masses of objects using standard units of grams (g), kilograms (kg), and liters (l). Add, subtract, multiply, or divide to solve one-step word problems involving masses or volumes that are given in the same units, e.g., by using drawings (such as a beaker with a measurement scale) to represent the problem.
Draw a scaled picture graph and a scaled bar graph to represent a data set with several categories. Solve one- and two-step “how many more” and “how many less” problems using information presented in scaled bar graphs. For example, draw a bar graph in which each square in the bar graph might represent 5 pets.
