Description
Introduce and consolidate 3rd grade two-step word problems in a fun and engaging way! Covers CCS, perfect for math centers, distance learning/e-learning, small group, targeted instruction but could also be used as whole-group instruction as well. No-prep. Assessment included. Google Classroom ready.
Concepts covered: 3.OA.D.8
Solve two-step word problems using the four operations. Represent these problems using equations with a letter standing for the unknown quantity.
Students will:
- Solve a variety of two-step problems, using the four operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
- Represent problems in different ways: some questions have moveable parts, then questions progress to using base-ten blocks and then numbers as the slide deck progresses
- Use a letter to represent an unknown quantity
These resources meet most 3rd grade curriculum expectations but could also easily be used for revision or an introduction to division in other grades.
There are many activities in this resource. It is designed to be broken up into a number of different lessons. You could also pick and choose activities to best meet the needs of your students (differentiate).
There are 2 resources included in this bundle:
Google Slides: Two-Step Word Problems (25 slides)
Google Forms: Two-Step Word Problems: Show What You Know (6 questions)
This Google Slide deck has clear instructions and is designed as independent and interactive practice. Our products are simple to follow and fun!
Assessment:
We give 2 options - multiple choice questions at the end of the slide deck or a Google Form. Questions are the same for both.
The Google Forms are auto-graded and can be saved to a Google Sheet, for easy future reference.
These resources are in Google Slides and Google Forms format, making them compatible with Google Classroom. There is no PDF document included.
