Description

Are you looking for a fun and simple way to help your students practice reading and writing decimals in standard and expanded form? This matching math game is the perfect solution! Students will round to the nearest whole, tenth, and hundredths place value. Use it as a low-prep math center, for practice after a whole group lesson, in small groups, or as a teacher table game. It's also great for spiral review throughout the year and makes a fun test prep activity too!

Your students will love completing these math puzzles while mastering the content standards along the way. This download has directions, 20 puzzles, answer key and a student recording sheet to hold them accountable.

Tips for Playing this Math Game: 

  • Print the puzzle pieces on cardstock or regular paper. If you are looking to use them for years, it’s worth the time to laminate them. Cut out the puzzle pieces and store in a labeled plastic baggie.
  • Create groups of 2-4 students. The lower number of students means the more focused students are while playing.
  • Show students how to compare and discuss answers. Did you both get the same answer? If students get different answers, ask them to solve the problem using a different strategy or help coach each other through the problem.
