Do you know your kids as writers? Really know their interests? If not, this product will help you get there! By knowing their interests, you will be able to better engage your kids in topics they already know about and like!

Just like in reading, we need to know our students as writers and what better way than to survey them or interview them! These surveys will give you data on attitudes and interests towards writing.

This product contains seven different writing inventories to use with your students.

Included:

• Primary (K-1, K-2)
• Intermediate (2-5, 3-5)
• 3 Excel spreadsheets for tracking data to look for trends

They are formatted as interviews, checklists or brief response. All the checklists can be used at the beginning of the year and then at the end of the year, as well as the interviews. The interviews can be one on one or you can have your students write their responses to the questions. These are available in Spanish too!

Also included are Excel spreadsheets that I have formatted so that you can add the names of the kids in your class and enter in their data. At a glance, you will be able to see where needs are and what their attitudes are and allow you to form flexible needs groups. At the very least, it will give you valuable information.

These will also be useful for goal-setting and to show parents at conference time.
